KONSENSUS BEBAS IS NOT INVOLVED IN UMNO SELANGOR'S ROADSHOW
Konsensus Bebas refers to a report in the Malaysian Insider news website dated July 8, 2010 with the headline, "Ex-PKR MPs to lead Umno roadshow in Selangor" and a report published in the Star on July 9, 2010.
The report quoted the Umno Selangor Information Chief claiming two members of Konsensus Bebas, YB Dato’ Seri Zahrain Hashim and YB Zulkifli Noordin will be participating in UMNO Selangor's roadshow to 'expose the stageplay' of Pakatan Rakyat. The reports also portrayed the Members of Parliament in Konsensus Bebas as being pro-Barisan Nasional.
To avoid speculation, slander and further political muddling, Konsensus Bebas would like to rectify the said reports.
Konsensus Bebas categorically denies the involvement of its Members of Parliament in any roadshow programmes organized by UMNO Selangor.
Konsensus Bebas reiterates that it is an independent political platform comprising of five independent MPs forming a parliamentary bloc that is effective, relevant, independent and pro-rakyat. Konsensus Bebas will not take any sides, whether Government or Opposition.
Konsensus Bebas will always take the independent stance based on the aspirations of the rakyat and the nation. By referring to our debates and stands taken in Parliament, it is obvious that Konsensus Bebas parliamentarians not only criticise the Opposition but also government policies that do not benefit the rakyat.
Hence, Konsensus Bebas requests all parties to allow the opportunity for its parliamentarians to serve the rakyat and the nation, specifically in discharging their responsibilities as Members of Parliament.
